Here's a sampling of what's on tap.
The Josh Abbott Band headlines Friday night's lineup. Lead singer Josh Abbott dropped out of graduate school just shy of completing his master's degree to focus on his music, and he hasn't stopped since. This Texas country band tours extensively around the Lone Star State. The Josh Abbott Band plays at 10 p.m. Friday on the Budweiser stage.
Fred Andrews and Honeybrowne is another popular Texas country band. They've toured with huge names like Pat Green and shared stages with Willie Nelson and Dwight Yokum. But look for surprising influences in the Victoria-born Andrews' music. He grew up listening to Simon and Garfunkel, The Beatles, Rolling Stones, R.E.M. and U2. Fred Andrews and Honeybrowne play at 8 p.m. Friday on the Budweiser stage.
Mardi Gras wouldn't be Mardi Gras without some jazz. And who better to deliver than the prolific local band Mambo Jazz Kings? Their funk and soul sounds have kept weekend party crowds dancing around Galveston County and the greater Houston region for 25 years. The 14-piece band consisting of three vocalists, a rhythm section and horn ensemble draws from an ever-expanding list of jazz, soul, R&B and pop classics. The Mambo Jazz Kings play at 6 p.m. Saturday on the Budweiser stage.
Austin alt-rock band The Canvas Waiting closes out the show Saturday night. It'll be a homecoming for Galveston native Colin Campbell, the band's lead guitarist. They've put out three albums. The latest, Chasing Color, was released in 2010. If you like Kings of Leon or Counting Crows, you'll probably like their sound. They play at 10:30 p.m. Saturday on the Budweiser stage.
