Hazel Irene Drager

FRIENDSWOOD —Hazel Irene Drager, 90 passed away on Tuesday, February 07, 2012 in Texas City, TX.

She was born on February 12, 1921 in Smithport, PA to Mildred Irene (Stroup) and Orville Clinton Smith. Hazel was a member of the Eastern Star, VotP choir, loved to play Blitz, and was an avid knitter with her friends at VotP. She was a very active lady who loved to travel the world. Hazel was a Loving Mother, Grandmother and Great-grandmother and a Special friend to many.

Hazel is preceded in death by her parents Mildred and Orville Smith; husband of 64 years Earl W. “Speed” Drager; sisters, Dorothy Slocum and Ruth Snyder; brothers, William Smith, Orville “Bub” Smith, Edward Smith and James Smith. She is survived by her daughter, LaDona Landry and husband Jeff; son, Dudley E. Drager and wife Shirley; Grandchildren, Gerald E. Landry, Drager Joseph Landry, Brianna Irene Landry, Caeden Lynn Landry, Geran Xander Landry, Zeven William Landry, Heath Drager, Tabitha Smithson and Scarlet Peoples; Great-Grandchildren Kylan Kane, Karli Kane, Beau Smithson, Tyler Smithson, John Welsh, Michael Welsh, Peyton Drager, Isabelle Drager and Reese Drager; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, February 10, 2012 from 6pm to 8pm at Village on the Park, 400 E. Parkwood Dr. in Friendswood, TX 77546.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Shriners Burn Hospital for Children or American Cancer Society in her name.
