Dorothy Brown Franklin

Mrs. Dorothy Brown Franklin, beloved mother, grandmother and friend was born August 21, 1933 in Houma, Louisiana. Her earthly journey ended January 27, 2012 in Texas City, Texas.

A longtime resident of Texas City and Mrs. Franklin, retired from La Marque ISD after 26 years of service.

Preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Franklin Sr., she is survived by her sons, Raymond Franklin Jr., Michael Franklin (Sue), Donald Franklin, Clarence Franklin (Marilyn), Alvin Franklin (Cheryl) and Jerry Franklin; a sister-in-law, Loudell Henderson; 15 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; and a host of family members and friends.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 8:00 PM Friday, February 3rd at the Mainland Funeral Home Chapel in La Marque. Home Going Services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, February 4, 2012 at Rising Star Baptist Church, 302 N. Oak in Texas City, Texas. Pastor D. N. Benford Sr., officiating. She will be laid to rest at Rising Star Cemetery, La Marque, Texas. www.mainlandfhlamarque.com
