Alice Ann Lively-DePugh

Alice Ann Lively-DePugh was a mother, wife, sister, daughter, and an amazing business woman who was taken from this life just too early. Alice Lively, as she was known, had a heart the size of the state of Texas, and did not let anyone keep her from sharing it. Alice Lively was born in Huntsville, Texas to Eugene Claude Lively III and Katherine Ann Thatcher in July 1962. Her passing on Monday, January 30, 2012 was shocking. Ms. Lively was preceded in death by her uncle Charles Thatcher, Jr., her father Eugene Lively III, and her grandmothers Katherine Goldbeck, Ahlene Lively, and Alice Baldwin. Alice will be missed by so very many people across Texas.

Ms. Lively was the owner/operator of Lively Delivery Service in Austin, Texas with her husband, George DePugh, and family. This wildly successful courier service has been going strong for over 15 years. Her family and friends are going to miss the amount of determination this petite woman yielded throughout her life. The sheer amount of strength and warmth she possessed just oozed out of her every pore. Her laugh could fill the room, as well as any heart within reach. Her green thumb has brightened many gardens and homes over the years.

Alice is survived by her husband: George DePugh; her children: Erin Patriquin and Wesley DePugh; her mother Katherine Thatcher; sisters Elizabeth Lively Garcia and Jessica Brauquet; as well as so many loved ones scattered all over this great state.

George and Alice have been together for 30 years raising children, and running their business. George and his family would like to welcome the many communities with ties to Alice to: Malloy & Son Funeral Home in Galveston, Texas on Saturday, February 4, 2012, with visitation beginning at 10:00 am. Services will begin at 12:00 Noon, and interment will be held at Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Flowers can be arranged with Knapp Flower Shop in Galveston.

Pallbearers will beWesley DePugh, Gabriel Garcia, Michael Pastor, Thomas Patriquin, Oscar and Ozzie Garcia, and Scott Braquet, with Don Emerson honorably nearby and Blaine Lively honorably missed. The family would also like to send out their thanks to all those who helped along the way.
