LA MARQUE — Mr. Jimmie Dewain Brown passed from this life Wednesday morning, February 2, 2012, in La Marque.

Born September 15, 1937 in Houston, Mr. Brown was a graduate from Smiley High School in 1956; he then proudly served his country in the United States Air Force before becoming a Deputy Chief Appraiser for Galveston County Appraisal District in 1985, but had previously worked for numerous counties. He was a Director of special projects for Galveston County Appraisal District in Texas City, loved golfing, hunting, music, and going out to eat seafood. He will be remembered as a very quiet and dignified man, a loving father, grandfather and a wonderful friend

He was preceded in death by his wife, Monna Gay Brown; parents, Jesse and Cora Brown; brother, Donald Brown and grandson, Bobby Bullock, Jr.

Survivors include his daughters, Marianna Bullock of Camden, AR, Lori Bigelow and husband, Ted of Cypress, Dana Dunkin and husband, David of LaMarque; grandchildren, Jimmie C. Bullock, Ginni Bigelow, Casey Bigelow, Matt Bigelow, Gracelyn Dunkin; great-grandchildren, Josie, Carolina, Harlee; brother, Leon Brown and wife, Betty of New Caney.

Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday, February 4, 2012, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home, 10412 Highway 6, Hitchcock, TX, (409) 925-3501. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, February 6, 2012, at Bethesda Cemetery in Camden, Arkansas.

Pallbearers will be Casey Bigelow, Ginni Bigelow, Matt Bigelow, Ted Bigelow, Jimmie Bullock and David Dunkin.
