With gas prices near $4 a gallon and air travel more expensive than ever, many people are staying closer to home when it comes to vacation.

Alberta Aaron

On February 5, 1954 a precious baby girl was born at John Sealy Hospital in Galveston, Texas to the proud parents, T. Roy & Gloria Young, they named her Alberta.

Alberta was raised in La Marque, Tx. She was a proud graduate of La Marque High School, Class of 1972. She graduated from College of the Mainland and later attended University of Houston Clear Lake, Tx. She worked diligently for over 25 years for Galveston Independent School District, until her retirement.

In 1980, she married her true love, Clifford D. Aaron. She loved not only her children, but everyone else’s children. She was very family oriented and enjoyed having fun. She was the type of woman that would help anybody she could.

Preceding Alberta in death is her husband Clifford D. Aaron and her parents, T. Roy and Gloria B. Young.

Her cherished memories are left with her children, Geneva Collins Spiller(Kevin); Leona Aaron; her grandchild, Alexis Collins; her siblings, Leroy Young (Shelia), Mary Ann Francis, Carrie Steen Bennett (Harold), Johnny Ray Young (Lettie) and Virginia Walker (Clifford); a sister-in-law Florce Robinson and a brother-in-law James Williams; two god-children, Ashley Francis and Roshaad Robinson. A devoted cousin-in-law, Paralee Roberts (MaMa) and a host of family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 8:00 PM Friday, February 3rd at Mainland Funeral Home. A Remembrance Service will begin at 12:00 PM Saturday, February 4, 2012 with friends, family and co-workers giving expressions followed by the Home Going Celebration at 1:00 PM. Services will be held at Greater St. Matthews Baptist Church, 6333 Highway 6 in Hitchcock. Pastor W. L. Randall, Jr. will officiate. She will be laid to rest beside her husband at Mainland Memorial Cemetery. www.mainlandfhlamarque.com
