New Arrival Celebrated
The Artillery Club was the scene of the Oct. 9 shower for the then infanticipating Magen Moore Ortiz. ’Twas officially hosted by Sue Moore and her sister Erin Teichman, but her beautiful niece Ashton Teichman was one of the best hostesses.
Despite the stormy weather outside, the room was a’glow in pink in honor of Miss Elizabeth Bartlett Ortiz, born Dec. 23. (Elizabeth is named in honor of Magen’s mother-in-law, Bertha Elizabeth Ortiz, and obviously, Bartlett, after her dad.)
Magen’s wonderful mother-in-law, Bertha Ortiz, drove in from Klein. Her aunt Linda Moore came in from Corpus Christi, aunts Anita Doyle and Jane Moore drove in from Houston, and sweet family friend Mary Sue Adams came in from San Antonio. They were troopers.
Also celebrating the future duchess was Joan McLeod, Lawren Hall, Vittoria Abercrombie, Anne Henderson, Sandy Stamolis, Cara Moore and Ann Simmons. The Diva, Carolyn Gaido, Lyda Ann Thomas and Elise Stephens had previous obligations, but were there in spirit.
The shower was truly a family affair with a roomful of family mems — EB’s great-great-aunt Mary Lee Moore, Julie Shelton, Ann Winklemann, Sissy Howell, Francie Buergler, Cathy Pickavance, Anne Charpentier, Hallie Moore, Rootie Moore and Kathy Patillo, Ginny Oliver, Theresa Rogers, Aida Moore and Diane and (daughter) Sarah Moore.
