Group, clinic reach out to stroke patients

GALVESTON — The University of Texas Medical Branch helps patients and their families cope with the major life changes as a result of a stroke.

Randle joining Cougars

Published January 18, 2012

LEAGUE CITY — Former Clear Springs linebacker Trevon Randle has transferred from LSU to the University of Houston.

Randle will sit out the 2012 season and have three years of eligibility remaining, beginning in 2013.

The 2011 Clear Springs graduate was a two-time All-State selection and was an All-American his senior year.

“I think he’s one of the most instinctive players I’ve ever had,” Clear Springs coach Clint Hartman said. “I love him and I think he’ll be great at U of H.”

Randle had 108 tackles, three interceptions and one fumble recovery as a senior in the 2010 season. At LSU, Randle didn’t accumulate any statistics in his freshman season but was part of the team that played in the national championship game.

“He’s going to put his nose to the grass and put in the work to be successful,” Hartman said. “(Houston is) excited about him, and really and truly he’s happy to be home. He’s going to represent his name and his home.”
