SANTA FE — A Santa Fe man is facing a felony charge following an incident involving gunshots Saturday morning.
Corey Wayne Blakely, 36, has been charged with deadly conduct and making a false report to police, a misdemeanor.
At 1:36 a.m., Santa Fe police went to a home in the 4000 block of Peck to investigate reports of a disturbance and gunshots.
When they got there, they couldn’t find any suspects or victims, a police statement said.
Later that morning, officers returned to the home and found evidence of a disturbance and gunfire.
They tried to contact people inside the house but were unsuccessful for an hour. They finally reached Blakely by telephone, and he agreed to come out, the statement said.
Officers determined that Blakely’s wife and two children were unharmed, the statement said. Police found Blakely was at a party Friday night when a disturbance occurred. He went home and another disturbance occurred, which led to a pistol being fired in the direction of a house across the street, the statement said.
Alcohol is believed to be a factor, the statement said. Bond was set at $11,000.
