Ex-constable violates probation

Published December 31, 2011

LA MARQUE — A former Galveston County constable surrendered to authorities Friday after a warrant was issued for his arrest on accusations he violated terms of his probation, authorities said.

Bond for Earl Tottenham, 47, was denied, pending court proceedings related to his probation, Maj. Ray Tuttoilmondo, a Galveston County Sheriff’s Office spokesman, said.

Tottenham, who was a Galveston County Precinct No. 3 constable, received probated sentences related to charges of misapplication of fiduciary property and tampering with government records. The case involved prepaid cremation and funeral policies.
