Rubber sidewalk installed at library

Published July 22, 2011

Terrewalks tiles, an interlocking recycled rubber and plastic sidewalk system, were installed at Rosenberg Library in Galveston to replace a section of concrete sidewalks buckled by tree roots.

Alex Gonzalez, a contractor and owner of Creative Combinations, said this is the first time the product, from Rubbersidewalks Inc., is being used in the city. He said he and his crew worked with an arborist to remove some of the surface tree roots to create a level surface.

The Terrewalks tiles can be cut to fit around and over roots. GonzalezÂ’ crew intalled two sections of the Terrewalks tiles on the Sealy side of the library.
