BAYOU VISTA — Most of the city’s residents will be without water for most of the day today as crews make repairs to a water main, the municipal utility district announced Tuesday afternoon.
Residents on Pompano, Warsaw, Bonita, Marlin, Redfish, Sailfish and Blue Herring streets will be without water from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. as repairs are made.
A leak was discovered just before the Independence Day weekend, Municipal Utility District No. 12 board chairman Bill Alcorn said.
The leak is caused by a rusted fire hydrant that was abandoned several years ago, Alcorn said.
Alcorn said the utility district did not want to do the repair until all of the necessary parts were available for the work, Alcorn said.
