School chief recovering from minor heart attack

DICKINSON — Leland Williams, the superintendent for the Dickinson school district, is expected back in the office this week after he had a “mild” heart attack Tuesday, a school district spokeswoman said.

Williams complained of heart attack-like symptoms last week, and after a checkup, doctors discovered he had suffered a minor heart attack. He had been away from the office since then but was working from home during his recovery, spokeswoman Tammy Dowdy said.

Williams is expected back on the job early this week, Dowdy said.
