GALVESTON — A Galveston Independent School District bus was involved in a minor accident with a police car Wednesday.

No injuries occurred to any of the 57 student riders, ages 8-13, bus driver or police officer, according to Emergency Medical Service respondents at the scene.

The accident occurred as the bus, Route 109 to Weis Middle School and Early Childhood University, traveled south on 59th Street approaching Stewart Road at 7:10 a.m.

A vehicle stopped abruptly in front of a Galveston police car for a student crossing the street. The bus struck the rear of the police car.

An EMS team determined there were no injuries. The bus was allowed to continue to school with the students after an investigation that lasted about 50 minutes.
