Ingram's Jewelry, a longtime La Marque business, is bidding farewell June 30 as its owners Bruce and LaDell Ingram plan to retire. The shop opened in 1946.

Creek Goes 2-1 At Duncanville

The Lady Wildcats went 2-1 at the first day of the Duncanville Tournament. They beat Wylie and Keller in straight sets before losing to a ranked Coppell team.

Creek plays A&M Consolidated in the consolation quarterfinals today.

Dickinson Improves To 9-0

The Lady Gators defeated Channelview (25-8, 25-21, 25-12) and Baytown Sterling (25-23, 25-18, 24-26, 25-23) at the Barbers Hill Tournament before taking down La Porte in the evening, 27-25, 25-19, 25-19.

Kelsey Merritt had 38 kills on the day, while Shelbee Berringer had 81 digs, and Allyson DeBruhl had 104 assists.

Kristy Rardin, Ericka Silvas, Carlyn Neubauer and Crista Ochoa also contributed.

The Lady Tors (0-1) dropped their season opener, 15-25, 17-25 and 10-25. Taylor Mitchell led Ball with seven kills.

Friendswood (0-2) dropped its second straight match, 24-26, 23-25, 23-25.

Jill Bergelson led the Lady Mustangs with 15 kills.

The Lady Cougars bounced back from a five-set loss in their season opener to beat Yates, 25-6, 25-22, 25-13.

Ashley Lewis led La Marque (1-1) with 10 kills, while Shawna Madrid added seven. Shaquala Roberson had four blocks.

Santa Fe 3, PN-G 2

The Lady Indians (2-1) didn’t let a fifth game slip away again, beating Port Neches-Groves, 15-25, 25-20, 21-25, 25-14, 15-1.

Katie Marabella (15 kills, 18 digs), Tiffany Thomas (12 kills, five blocks), Madison Moody (16 kills), Lindsey Martindale (24 assists) and Kelli Hadley (15 digs) contributed.

Santa Fe won its second game of the tri-match, 25-22, 25-21, 27-29, 25-14.

The Lady Indians improved to 3-1, as Katie Marabella (19 kills, 13 digs), Tiffany Thomas (10 kills, five blocks), Madison Moody (10 kills), Kelli Hadley (15 digs) and Lindsey Martindale (26 assists) all helped.

The Lady Stings improved to 4-1 with a 25-18, 25-27, 25-15, 25-10 win over Reagan. Chelsea Knape had 23 kills, while Taylor Chaney added eight.
