TEXAS CITY — Police are searching for a knife-wielding robber who held up a scrapbooking store Monday night.
Police Sgt. Joe Stanton said a man posed as a customer at the Croppin Bug Scrapbooking store at 3206 13th Ave. N., at about 6 p.m., but instead of buying supplies he threatened the store clerk with a knife and forced her to turn over about $200 from the register. No one was hurt and the unknown robber fled the store on foot.
The store employee described the scrapbooking robber as a white man between 30 and 40 years old.
He has a medium build and is about 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs about 170 pounds.
He had brown, medium length hair and was wearing a light-colored short and dark pants, police said.
Anyone with information about the robbery should call Texas City Crime Stoppers at 409-945-8477.
