BACLIFF — A teen girl believed to have run away under unusual circumstances Friday morning had still not been heard from on Saturday, investigators said.
Cynthia Ann Macklin, 15, was supposed to get on a Dickinson school bus early Friday morning but never arrived to school. She was last seen near the intersection of Gordy Road and West Bayshore Drive getting into a green-colored sport utility vehicle driven by a male, Galveston County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Maj. Ray Tuttoilmondo said.
Investigators do not believe foul play was involved in Macklin’s disappearance. The teen, however, left her mobile phone, iPod and a note to her father at the house.
Officials did not reveal the contents of the letter. Investigators did seize her computer to check for clues.
While classified as a runaway, sheriff’s investigators said the circumstances in which she took off prompted them to ask for the public’s help in finding her.
Macklin is a white female about 5 feet, 4 inches tall and weighs about 110 pounds, Tuttoilmondo said. She has brown hair and hazel eyes with a fair to medium complexion. She was last seen wearing a black jacket, bluejeans and white shoes.
Anyone with information about Macklin’s disappearance should call the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office at 409-766-2222 or 866-248-8477.
