Chavez-Martinez
Mr. and Mrs. Ignacio Chavez, Sr. of Port Lavaca, announce the engagement of their daughter, Bertha Alicia Chavez to Roberto Martinez, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Roberto Martinez, Sr. of Texas City.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Armando Salinas of Port Lavaca and Mr. and Mrs. Trinidad Chavez of Leon, Guanajuato, Mexico. The groom-elect is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Pete Martinez, Sr. of Texas City, Mrs. Angelica Serenil and the late Mr. Jose Serenil of Galveston.
Alicia is a graduate of Victoria College where she received an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Office Systems Technology. She is also a graduate of St. Edward’s University in Austin where she received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Organizational Communications. She is a Financial Sales and Investment Rep for BBVA Compass in Friendswood.
Bobby is a graduate of Texas State University where he received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science and Spanish. He is also a graduate of the University of St. Thomas in Houston where he received a Master’s Degree in International Studies and Educational Administration. He is currently attending Texas A&M in College Station pursuing a Doctor of Education (EdD) in Public School Administration. Bobby is an Assistant Principal at Levi Fry Intermediate in Texas City.
The couple plans to wed on October 24, 2009, in Houston.
