Janie Gilbert, senior pastor of McKinney Memorial United Methodist Church in La Marque, is encouraging the community to join a celebration.
“It’s our 90th anniversary as a church,” she said. “We’re calling it ‘Aim for Certainty in Uncertain Times.’ Please join us as we celebrate.”
The church is named for the Rev. Van H. McKinney, who ministered from 1922 to 1925. Gilbert reports the church to be healthy and growing.
The event begins at 4 p.m. Sunday at 1607 Nashby. Special guests will include Bishop Janice Huie of Covenant Glenn United Methodist Church and the Rev. David Bennett.
A dinner will follow the services. For information, call 409-935-5797.
