Balderas-Selvera
Carla G. Balderas and Phil Selvera, both of Texas City, were united in marriage at 3:00 p.m., October 3, 2009 at First United Methodist Church in Texas City.
The bride is the daughter of Manuel F. Loya (stepfather) of Alvin, Texas; the late Guadalupe Gonzalez of Hitchcock, Texas; and the late Hortencia G. Loya of Alvin, Texas.
The groom is the son of the late Keno Selvera, Sr. of Hitchcock, Texas and the late Mary Alice Reza-Sandoval of Galveston, Texas.
The bride and groom have four children: John Balderas, Robert Balderas, Phillip Selvera and Priscilla Selvera.
A reception was held at the Nessler Civic Center in Texas City.
Rosalinda Soliz of Baytown, sister of bride, served as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Carolina Hernandez, Margy Villarreal, Andrea Solis, all sisters of the bride; Mary H. Gonzalez, Mary Gonzalez, Amy Selvera, Arline Ray, all sisters-in-law of the bride. Alyssa Bonano was the flower girl.
Keno Selvera Jr. served as best man. Groomsmen were Rick Hernandez, Richard Gonzalez, Rudy Gonzalez, Charlie Gonzalez, Benito Solis Jr., and Jimmy Ray. Deus Cormier was the ring bearer.
Ushers were Ben Gonzalez, Chris Gonzalez, Ryan Gonzalez, John-John Hernandez, Benito Solis, Jr., Mario Solis and Brandon Ray.
Carla is a 1981 graduate of Alvin High. She is the Parts Coordinator for Alex Rodriguez Mercedes Benz.
Phil is employed with City of Texas City’s Water Department.
Carla and Phil will spend their honeymoon in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee and reside in Texas City.
