Veterans Day ceremony
Santa Fe High School will have a Veterans Day ceremony at 9:30 a.m. today at Joe Raitano Stadium on state Highway 6 in Santa Fe.
The U.S. Marines Honor Guard, a U.S. Army chaplain, a special ceremony for SFHS students that have enlisted in the service and a special tribute to veterans will be some of the activities conducted.

Isle Veterans Day event
The Galveston Island Convention and Visitors Bureau and Hawthorne Suites will have free barbecue sandwiches for active members and veterans with proof of service at 10:45 a.m. today in the ballroom at Hawthorne Suites, 6300 Seawall Blvd., in Galveston.
The sandwiches will be $5 for all others. A PowerPoint presentation of Hurricane Ike’s toll on Galveston’s military will start at 11 a.m.

The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 6378 will have this event at 11 a.m. today at 5204 state Highway 3 in Dickinson.
