Burkett-Davis
Leeanna Maelyn Burkett of Lubbock and John Thomas Davis of Abernathy were united in marriage at 1 p.m., June 6, 2009 at Trinity Church in Lubbock. The bride is the daughter of Dr. Randy and Donna Lynn Hazzard Burkett of Lubbock. She is the granddaughter of Jane Burkett Platt of Baytown and the late Eldridge Burkett and Bill and Willie Mae Hazzard of Texas City.
The groom is the son of Dan and Jackie David of Abernathy. He is the grandson of the late Raymond and Mayna Davis and the late Jack and Dorothy Walker. The Reverend Chris Sutton of Doylestown, Pennsylvania officiated the double ring ceremony.
Carly Sheumaker and Marcy Roberts served as maids of honor. Bridesmaids were Audra Sutton, Laura Casanova and D’Ann Davis, sister of the groom.
Chris Davis, brother of the groom, served as best man. Groomsmen were Ty Horseford, Damon West, Hunter Halford and Matthew Burkett, brother of the bride. Cayden West served as ring bearer.
Ushers were Travis and Bryan Hazzard, cousins of the bride and Set Christian. Honored guests were Amanda and Traci Hazzard, Sarah and Kelsey Burkett, cousins of the bride, Kellie Davis, sister-in-law of the groom, Leeanna Clark, namesake of the bride and Abby Clark.
Leeanna graduated from Trinity Christian High School and is currently attending LSU majoring in Elementary Education. John received his certification as a Master Welder from Tulsa Welding Institute and is currently employed at Turner Industries in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
The couple honeymooned in Lake Tahoe, Nevada. They reside in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
