GALVESTON — Some Ball High students didn't go to class on Friday due to threats of bombs and drive-by shootings that appeared on the Web site MySpace.
The Galveston school district has received several threats during the past two weeks and has evacuated the school several times.
Although police officials have described the threats as end-of-school pranks only made worse by publicity, district officials aren’t taking any chances.
Ball High is staffed with extra security today. Staff members or security personnel are staffing every entrance and exit. Every student who attended school this morning was searched when they entered the building.
