Texas First banks rank among best in nation

TEXAS CITY — A national banking magazine has ranked Texas City-based Texas First Bank as one of the top performing community banks in the country. In one ranking, the 18-branch banking group ranked second in the nation for banks its size in ratings released by the Independent Community Bankers of America’s Independent Banker magazine.
For banks with assets between $250 million and $500 million, Texas First Bank was the second best bank for return of equity, the association said in its June publication that ranks community banks. Texas First was also ranked ninth in that category for return on assets ratio.
Texas First was the only bank from Galveston County to make any of the association’s ranking lists. For a complete breakdown of the rankings go online to www.icba.org.
