John Christopher Kelser
WILMINGTON, NORTH CAROLINA —John Christopher Kelser, 92, passed away Monday, November 2nd, 2009, in Wilmington, North Carolina. He was born on April 14th, 1917, in Houston, Texas, served in the Texas 36th Division during World War II, was a bookseller with Rand McNally and later owned Crestbooks in Virginia. A loving father and husband for 53 years to his wife Betty Vezien Kelser who passed away in 2003 at the age of 77.
He is survived by daughters Lee Anne Franke of San Antonio, Texas and Jane Chrisse Pope of Wilmington North Carolina; son John Haden Kelser of Thurmont, Maryland.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2009, at 2:00 p.m. at Galveston Memorial Park Cemetery in Hitchcock, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cornelia Nixon Davis Health Care Center in Wilmington or charity of one’s choice.
