LEAGUE CITY — The American Association of School Administrators will audit Clear Creek school district’s curriculum, under the recommendation of Superintendent Greg Smith.
Smith said district officials expect continuous improvement in the district, which has earned the state’s recognized rating, the second-highest, 12 times in the past 13 years.
“It is this expectation that motivated us to request a curriculum management audit,” Smith said.
“We believe that the curriculum management audit is an outstanding measure by which we can judge our school district.
“We believe that the findings from the audit will provide strong data to guide our ongoing planning and improvement efforts.”
“We expect that we will be able to successfully utilize the findings in both our annual planning activities and our long-term planning.”
A team of certified education auditors will visit each campus this week to observe classrooms, review curriculum documents and interview personnel and community members.
“Whenever people hear the word ‘audit,’ it conjures negative feelings, but in actuality this kind of audit is welcomed by high performing school districts like Clear Creek ISD,” Smith said.
The audit team will identify areas of weakness and present the findings to Smith.
