Stanton-Boysen
Kelly Renee Stanton of Galveston and John Erick Boysen, Jr. of Galveston were united in marriage at 6:30 p.m., July 4, 2009 at the Galveston Island Convention Center with a reception immediately following in the Grand Ballroom. The ceremony was officiated by the Rev. Doug Guthier.
The bride is the daughter of Paul and Cindy Stanton of Galveston. She is the granddaughter of the late Yvonne Stanton, and the late Jack and Merle Winters.
The groom is the son of John Sr. and Shereen Boysen of Galveston. He is the grandson of the late Thomas Robert and Dora Mae Boysen and Kay Halliburton of Ohio and Abbas Mazaher of West Virginia.
The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a white satin off-the-shoulder, A-line, corset-back gown with a chapel train. Her veil was trimmed with Swarvorski crystals. Her necklace was custom designed and hand made of pearls and Swarvorski crystals by Margie Winters of Missouri City, aunt of the bride, who also designed and made the jewelry worn by the wedding party. A special piece of jewelry, a pearl bracelet, was borrowed and worn by the bride in honor and memory of Susan McConnell.
Carly Erwin, sister of the bride of Galveston, served as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Ali Zein-Eldin of Galveston, Ashley Hebler of Galveston, Katie McConnell of Galveston, and Sarah DuPree of Jacksonville, Florida.
John Boysen, Sr., father of the groom served as best man. Groomsmen were Wesley Fuqua of Galveston, Dylan Ware of Galveston, Ryan Craven of Seattle, Washington, and Joshua Helmondollar of Montcalm, West Virginia.
Ushers were Casey Johnson of Eaton, Ohio, Shane Erwin of Galveston, and Thomas O’Donnell of League City.
The flower girl was Caroline Boysen of Galveston, and the ring bearer was her brother, Robert Boysen, III.
The bride is a 2006 Ball High School graduate and a 2009 graduate of Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida where she graduated Summa Cum Laude with a bachelors degree in Meteorology. She will pursue a graduate degree in Geography from Texas State University beginning in the fall of 2009.
The groom is a 2006 Ball High graduate and a 2009 graduate of the Galveston College nursing program. He is currently employed at UTMB as a Nurse Clinician in the Infant Special Care Unit.
The couple honeymooned in Hawaii where they enjoyed deep-sea fishing and snorkeling. They will reside in Galveston and San Marcos.
