Ike Plays To Be Read At The Strand Theatre
GALVESTON — “Eyes on the Tempest: The Ike Plays” will be read at 2 p.m. Saturday at Island ETC at The Strand Theatre, 2317 Mechanic.
The readings of the plays, which range from five to 12 minutes, were organized by Houston playwright Fernando Dovalina, who runs the Driscoll Street Salon Theatre, and by Island ETC artistic director Kim Mytelka.
Besides Dovalina, the playwrights are Aaron Alon, Jim Bain, Lisa Bunse, Eric James, J.R. Marshall, Kay McStay, Lauren Tunnell and Peter Wittenberg Jr.

‘You Can’t Take it With You’
The Clear Creek Community Theatre will present “You Can’t Take it With You” at 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 2:30 p.m. matinees Sundays through Oct. 4 at 18091 Upper Bay Road in Nassau Bay.

‘The Cove’
The University of Houston-Clear Lake’s Film & Speaker Series will present “The Cove,” an investigative film that follows a high tech dive team on a mission to discover the truth about the international dolphin capture trade at 7 p.m. Oct. 3; and at 3 p.m. Oct. 4 in the Student Services Classroom Building Lecture Hall, 2700 Bay Area Blvd. in Clear Lake. Lecturer Michael Hunt will speak afterward.

‘Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?’
ETC at the Strand Theatre will open this play at 8 p.m. today at 2317 Mechanic St. in Galveston.
Performances will be at 8 p.m. on Thursdays through Saturdays, and at 2:30 p.m. on Sundays through Oct. 17.
The play is an R-rated theater production containing adult material. The production includes adult themes, hard language, some violence and sexually oriented material. ETC doesn’t recommend this production for children.
