Kathy Whatley would like you to meet her aunt Natalie Murphy at Galveston’s First Baptist Church, 822 23rd St., from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. today.
“She has been a business owner, church worker and the originator of the fire prevention poster contest in Galveston,” Whatley said. “At 91, she still works every day. She has been in Galveston for 60 years, and I’d like to invite everyone she knows to the reception.”
In lieu of presents, guests are encouraged to bring cat food. Whatley explained that the island’s cats have long had no better friend than her Aunt Natalie.
