KEMAH Brian Lynch, the Grammy Award-winning trumpeter, will headline the Kemah Boardwalk Jazz Festival this weekend.
Lynch and pianist Eddie Palmieri won the Best Latin Jazz Album Grammy in 2007 for The Brian Lynch/Eddie Palmieri Recording Project Simpatico.
Among the veteran performers who are returning to the 12th annual festival are Tony Campise, who plays saxophones, flute and base flute and who has performed with musicians ranging from Willie Nelson to Billy Gibbons; and Pamela York, a classically trained pianist from Canada who has been a regular in shows and clubs since moving to Houston in 2001.
Also performing are saxophonist Woody Witt, the entertainment director at the jazz club Cezanne, and guitarist Mark Towns, whose music reflects flamenco and Afro-Cuban roots.
